Social media has been widely used when it comes to politics. Additionally, another aspect that has been extensively studied in political communication is celebrity endorsements. Both have large impacts on political campaigns and political issues. A significant factor with celebrities speaking in the political realm is how the message is being perceived by the celebrity’s audience. This current study uses the theoretical lens of Source Characteristics to interpret how individuals view political information tweeted by celebrities.
